During a trip to the city of Angels; I had the honor of speaking with HOLYSWORD, an innovate young producer who’s cultivated a hefty soundcloud following with his eclectic plethora of tracks. Drawing samples from a wide array of artists such as Explosions in the Sky and Asap Ferg, this producer never ceases to amaze listeners with his experimental approach. It’s quite an ordeal to add elegance to trap beats, but (Cameron) is brilliant when it comes to the craft. I was able to pick his brain for a few hours to find out the methods behind his madness, and gained a lot of new insight as a result.
Safe in Sound- Excision and co.’s travelling bass-blast of a party, sponsored by the good folks at PK Sound, who brought you the brain-rattling system behind the Firepower Tour, is coming to Seattle. It might get loud, possibly ridiculous and certainly mind-blowing. Here’s what Excision himself has to say about it:
Alex Dixon got to catch up, and legally blaze one down with the boys at Seattle’s Marymoor Park during Rebelution’s Count Me In tour.
Special thanks to Dama Cannabis Products, Empty Planet Productions, Stick Figure, The Green, Iration, Rebelution, Infinity Life Clothing, and all the fans that came out to support their artists and make the night a special one.
We did an interview with Wu-Tang Clan Member's Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna talk about Legalization at Bumbershoot 2014 with Alex from the-re-up.com. Super ecstatic to hear what these hip hop legends have to say.
Summer’s ending soon, y’all. It’s true. We certainly won’t be the first to remind you; your coworkers will soon be needing some other pointless crap to talk about while their TV shows get written for the fall.
But before you ditch your wookie-tribal dress in favor of business attire- (the proverbial kimono in favor of the suit, if you will), take heart! Because partying indoors is pretty fun too.
Kill Paris aka Corey treats us right with this song of his EP, "ForePlay" remixed with Wicket City. If you like synthy, melodic, jersey club style music that you won't be able to resist grooving with then give this song a "tap" with your cursor on "Play"
It’s late August, and in Seattle that means two things. For the hard-working men and women of the city, September’s approach yields Labor Day, and live music’s busiest weekend of the year. And what is a holiday without celebration?
It's great to hear a refreshing trap meets swing meets 1900's beat coming straight to you from Paper Diamond. On his release of this he said "it's been living on [his] computer forever". Thus building excitement up for his well renowned tour circuit presence! There is also an expected new EP coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled folks.
Recently, I had a bass induced seizure that kept me bedridden for a few days in which I spent holed up watching the Discovery Channel’s “Naked and Afraid.” The cause of this fatality was listening to a remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Gold” by a producer known ironically as GVME OVER. I had the honor of speaking with him recently upon attending an 808 enthusiasts meeting, in which he delivered a liberating speech.
Skrillex continues to work on being the hardest working man in the EDM industry with his announcement of his 27 date US tour this fall, following his Mothership Tour.
